An Open Exchange of Ideas and Best Practices
The issues facing today’s public manager can be complex, inter-related, and far-reaching. The information and ideas exchanged among professionals have become valuable resources for practitioners. The Public Manager, a unique public management journal, announces the launch of a groundbreaking new opportunity for putting it all together—the Public Discussions Program.
Three interactive opportunities comprise the Public Discussions Program (PDP):

Small Group Seminars, held 6-8 times throughout the year, focusing on specific tools and techniques germane to public policy practitioners. Offered in collaboration with partners of The Public Manager, the seminars will focus on specific issues such as performance measurement or strategic human capital.

Open Discussion Forums, held 2-3 times a year, will allow greater freedom of thought in addressing pressing challenges for public managers. Forum topics will cover issues such as curbing corruption and overseeing contractor performance.

Annual Conference—This groundbreaking series of diverse, audience-driven seminars and forums culminated with The Public Manager and ASPA's 2008 Annual Conference (July 28-29, Baltimore Harbor). The annual conference afforded an interchange of ideas and best practice insights on “Transforming Bureaucratic Cultures: Challenges and Solutions for Public Sector Practitioners.”
